The top lists are based entirely on my personal taste. It's all about the melody, changing themes, songs within a song, reflective harmonic complexity, irregular time signatures, unconventional use of instruments, emotional intensity, and powerful singing style. As you will see I am still faithful to all big prog-rock names that started and popularized the sub-genre in early 70's.

Among my favorites, many lesser known bands who never made a big commercial success and never broke into the big league - bands like: Marsupilami, Gracious, Beggars Opera, Web, Samurai, Gnidrolog, Cressida and many more.

My favorite instruments: Mellotron, Hammond organ, saxophone, violin. I prefer laid-back, mellow, pastoral sound rather than busy, heavy and loud music. I don't care much for guitar-led heavy metal rock, improvisational, jamming, difficult, atonal and hard to get into music.
